Mahi Racing Team India new lap record 1:33.283 and first win. Mahi Racing Team will next take to the track at Aragon in Spain on 14th April 2013 for the next round of racing.



World champion Kenan Sofuoglu out rode Sam lowes (Yamaha) to clinch a podium finish at the 2013 Supersport World Championship held in Phillip Island. Sofuoglu was seen riding the Kawasaki ZX-6R won the event taking a lead of 1.899 seconds ahead of Lowes. The race saw Sofuglu fight it out with the riders to gain point position and his determination paid off eventually when during the last lap he set a new lap record 1’33.283.

Prior to this win, he has won races at Phillip Island in 2009 and 2012, and this win marks the first win for Mahi Racing Team India. He has an impressive record of 22 WSS wins in his career which is on a blistering run. Culmination of the race saw Sam Lowes come in second for Yamaha while rookie rider Michael Van Der Mark came in third for Honda. Five Kawasaki ZX-6R borne riders made it into the top seven during this race. Sofuoglu praised the team and mechanics for doing a great job on the bike which saw it out do its competitors during the qualification laps and race. The team’s other racer is Fabien Foret.
Mahi Racing Team will next take to the track at Aragon in Spain on 14th April 2013 for the next round of racing. The 4 winners placed atop in the World SuperSport Series in Phillip Island, Australia are in this order. 1. K Sofuoglu (Mahi Racing Team India) 23’32.480 2. Sam Lowes (Yakhnich Motorsport) 23’34.379 3. Michael vd Mark ( Pata Honda World Supersport) 23’39.251 4. Fabien Foret (Mahi Racing Team India) 23’43.575.
